Date: Thursday 2 May

Time: 15:00-16:30 CEST

Hosted by: GPA Coordination Unit

Join us in this online session: "Investing in Humanitarian Energy: Building Self-Reliance and Resilience Within Communities Through Energy Access" during the upcoming Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW) for the GPA Coordination Unit session on May 2nd at 15:00 CET. Did you know that worldwide, 770 million people lack access to electricity and 2.5 billion people lack access to clean cooking solutions? This is a critical issue, especially for displaced populations. Currently, over 110 million forcibly displaced people worldwide lack access to sustainable energy, with the majority in camps lacking electricity and modern cooking solutions.

Join us to delve into the current status of energy access in displacement contexts, share best practices, successful project stories, and discuss innovative financing mechanisms and sustainable energy delivery models. This session will bring together humanitarian practitioners, representatives from displaced communities, academics, donors, private sector partners, and government officials.
