Circular Economy for E-Waste Management: Local Repair of Solar Products in Displacement Settings

The Taskforce on E-Waste in Displacement Settings, hosted by the Global Platform for Action (GPA) on Sustainable Energy in Displacement Settings, will explore learnings and launch knowledge resources from two pilots of circular economy models to manage e-waste and create livelihood opportunities led by IOM in Uganda’s Bidi Bidi refugee settlement and UNHCR in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar refugee settlement. The session will discuss how to launch e-waste initiatives, the challenges and effective approaches for building local repair capacity, and pathways for scaling e-waste management programmes in displacement settings.
